After serving his community and the nation for over 30 years, Bob Beasley retired from state service in 2020. Bob views the law as his calling--the vehicle through which he seeks to serve others. To this end, he has opened this legal practice with the express goal of helping people with their legal needs, including wills, trusts, estate issues, powers of attorney, contracts, and small business issues.
Bob is a 1986 graduate of the University of Richmond, and a 1989 graduate of the T. C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. He has been a member of the Virginia State Bar since 1989 and was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States in 1994.
Bob served his country as an officer in the United States Army from 1990 to 1994. He also served in the Virginia Army National Guard from 1995 to 2000. Bob served four years as an Assistant Attorney General of Virginia. He also served as Commonwealth's Attorney in Powhatan County for nearly 15 years. Bob has argued numerous cases before the Virginia appellate courts.
Bob has also spent time working as a financial advisor helping military families and veterans become more financially secure.
When not working, Bob enjoys participating in the sport of Triathlon, and is an Ironman Triathlete. He greatly enjoys spending time with his wife, Diane, and working on projects around their home. Bob is an adult Sunday School teacher and serves as a Deacon at his church.
Bob served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army from 1990 to 1994. While on active duty, Bob served as a Legal Assistance Officer, drafting wills and Powers of Attorney for soldiers, military retirees, and their families.
Bob later served in the U.S. Army Trial Defense Service, defending soldiers in courts martial and in adverse administrative actions.
In his final assignment, Bob served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, prosecuting crimes that occurred on Army property.
Bob served as an Assistant Attorney General, first under Jim Gilmore, and then under Mark Earley. Bob handled criminal appeals before the Virginia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, and prosecuted fraud cases as Director of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
Bob was elected four times to serve as Commonwealth's Attorney in Powhatan. He served one month shy of 15 years, leaving to accept another state position.
Bob is an Ironman triathlete and enjoys competing in triathlons when not working. Bob also enjoys working on projects around his house. He teaches an adult Sunday School class and serves as a Deacon in his church.
Bob and his wife of over 30 years, Diane, are the parents of two adult daughters.
